THE FROZEN PROMISES OF GOD

During the past turn-of-the-century, I had several dreams in which I discovered large hail stones, each bigger than a football, in a field. Curious, I picked them up to observe them. They appeared ancient. After I awakened, I was haunted by the imagery, needled to ponder the meaning of the dreams. Several years later, the Holy Spirit revealed the meaning to me in the Bible.

The Bible refers to God’s Word as spiritual water. It refreshes. Carries life-force. Flows with the power to sustain and nourish our soul and spirit.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:10-11)

We usually focus on the Word of God as rain in this passage, but did you notice the word “snow" here? While rain immediately brings refreshment and nourishment to the earth, the opposite is true of snow: it's frozen, released from the mountains in spring, summer, and fall, melting into streams and rivers to water the valley below.

If God's Word is like rain that sustains us in the present, then what do His Words do that are like snow, hail, and ice?

God's frozen Words are prophecy.

God’s prophetic Words are like snow, hail, and ice, frozen, waiting for their due season. This is why such words don't activate immediately in our lives. And why no matter what we do, they just won't melt into water -- refreshing our present need.

So where are these frozen prophetic Words?

The hailstones in my dreams were from the storehouses of Heaven.

God revealed this mystery to Job:

“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of war and battle?…” (Job 38:22, 23)

God's prophetic frozen Words are in the storehouses of Heaven. So how are these frozen prophetic Words released? King David has more to add to this revelation:

“Who can stand before [God's] cold? He sends forth His word and melts them… Fire and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling His word;” (Psalm 147:18, Psalm 148:8)

God's frozen Words await the day when He either flings them to earth for emergencies and times of war -- like hail, or breathes on them, slowly melting the snow and ice, flowing from His Storehouses on the Mountain into our valley for the blossoming of a new season of prosperity and fulfilled destiny. Exactly when we need them.

In the meantime, we are instructed to live by faith.

If God has spoken a Word of instruction, direction, warning, counsel, destiny, or promise over us and we haven't yet seen it: wait on the Lord in Faith Hope, and Love. Because He says: My Word --

"... shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

God is faithful.

Whether through immediate Words like rain to sustain us. Or by frozen Words to be melted and released in the future. Waiting for the assigned time of release.

One last note: there's another form of ice that is interesting to mention here: Glaciers. They form after years of buildup of snow -- year after year -- miles of thick ice, hundreds of feet thick, slowly moving down a ravine or valley. And when a glacier meets the end of its journey, the ocean, it meets an epic climax called “calving” — and must be seen to be believed (see links below). It’s both terrifying and awesome.

If our frozen promises from God have built up for an extended amount of time, they become like a glacier, and for what seems like an eternity, it creeps its way to the ocean, where it finally plunges into the sea, unleashing tumultuous, awe-inspiring turnings of everything upside-down. A monumental reversal of fortunes. A “suddenly” of massive proportions that changes everything in an instant.

Would anyone disagree that the world is in a time of historical distress —

and in a time of war and battle for the nations over what is good and right and true and just? I believe the Great Spring Thaw of the Storehouses of Heaven is upon us. The storehouses of frozen promises are beginning to open up and God is flinging them to earth like hailstones, or melting them like snow and ice, or upending them like glaciers, to bring resources, sustenance, new unction, grit, verve, strength, hope, wisdom, peace, joy, fear of God, Love, and favor, to equip His Sons and Daughters for the days ahead.

So whether your frozen promises are like snow, ice, or hail — or a glacier — prepare to receive the refreshing streams and rivers as they flow from the melting highlands on the Mountain to release restoration, rebirth, and restitution into our valleys of barrenness, refreshment to our time of distress, war, and battle. Watch, also, for the glaciers of monumental frozen dreams, hopes, and promises to rumble, crumble, and tumble into the sea as everything under the surface is about to push upward into the light -- like a rising mountain — in a sudden reversal of fortunes — which will significantly alter the very landscape around us.

This is not a season for fear or retraction.

We must be ready in body, soul, and spirit for this new epic era before us.

The Great Spring Thaw of 2020 is here.

Watch the two video clips below with the understanding that this is what happens when the storehouses of Heaven are filled and overflowing with frozen promises that have built up over years and years into a massive glacier, released for us in a time of distress, and a time of war and battle. Watch each short video until the end, because just when you think it’s over — it’s not.
